wah, smooth bowl supercracked. Watuza suggests covering it. I think I will try blow drying it.

key is definitely to cut a removal edge. I skipped blow drying on one of them at least.

Not using sp really anymore, using casting slip thickness as being a bit thinner than thin glaze.

Cloth 1.5 sp didn't work, would not come off of the cloth.

key seems to be to blow dry it for a while and then cut a definitive edge for the element to crease from.
survived removal: 1.5 sp porcelain, bowl form, 5 min cast, blow dry for 5 minutes until creasing starts.

contacts are back ordered. Looks like I'll be wearing my epoxy stained glasses for years to come. Wah.
Porcelain casting is in it's first experimental stages. I'm using 1.5 sg slip cast at 2 minute cast times. Tray and 2 bowl casts are being dried.

stubborness really pays off in the end sometimes, but watching it is sometimes a bit more than you can take.
I wonder when my contacts are going to arrive?
I have to remember to put that ceramics mold book back... Hmm.

Good thing yesterday that I did eventually go to ceramics. It was good to see familiar faces in the studio again. The plaster cast came out much better than I expected it to. Anyways, one more cast to do today and then it's slip time!

It's always surprising how fast mood swings can go. I'm at another low point right now after hearing bad news about my immediate career choice.
Negative thought rush in, thinking that the last two years of work has been for naught. I guess I don't understand the community of researchers in my field well at all.
It's unfortunate that this rejection probably nails the coffin lid for the latest one as well. I guess right now I'm taking it pretty badly.
Argh. Bone up a little my friend.
Looking at the future I can see how things get better but the short run shows so little promise that I feel pretty bad.
Hmm.

Gosh I really do miss having Lush to listen to. Nice and angry. Great for debugging and developing code.

glug glug water tastes soooo good. So today Barry came in and the systems went back to hibernation again, just for a little while. Last time Barry came in for over an hour last week, the local system crashed. I should think about plotting the correlation if I can get a little bit more organized.
